Errands today, but done.

At least I went to a local doughnut shop and got good cheese danish and jelly doughnuts. I don't like cheese danish, but my teacher friend told me to try one and it was amazing. I think they use their croissant dough for the pastry, and the cheese is more tart than sweet. So good...

They were out of croissants, it's a popular place and I didn't get there until ten...

We had a massive out of nowhere windstorm today. Power poles, light poles, trees down everywhere. 70 mile per hour winds. So crazy!

I didn't feel like working on the gala dress today, but I just cast on the second sleeve on the Vista sweater I started two and a half years ago.

It was Medha's last full day, and it was full. We went to the Diana exhibit (ok), Museum of Illusions (amazing!), ate good things, and went downtown, which was 100 times more disgusting than I remembered it, so we left right away. My poor mom working there for 42 years!

I'm completely not into music. Medha loves concerts. We're at a New Kids on the Block concert 😂

I think the pattern is done. I even drew in the line for the contrast at the neck. Of course, I drew multiple lines even though I thought I liked the pinned line I started with, so good luck probably Monday me figuring that out.

Medha, a college friend, is coming here tomorrow, so, sewing won't happen!

I made a few more adjustments to the pattern this morning. Finalize tomorrow, hopefully!

I need to start my gala dress soon, so I got out the pattern today. It's the same as the starburst dress, only it's one shouldered. The muslin from that dress was in a bin, but I thought I had altered it because the front and back matched without a bust dart (that I used) or gathering (that the pattern used). But no, the pattern is the same. The muslin I found wasn't the final pattern, but I think--hope--it fit without alterations. Anyway, it shouldn't be hard to fit.

I wonder where I put the silk? I bought some green from Silk Baron at Costume College last year. It also has black taffeta and organza. And I have to figure out a beading pattern. But it should be a straightforward dress, and I have a month. Plenty of time!
