Happy New Year!! I wish you a year full of silk, stright pins and un-knotted thread!

Completed Costume Tally of 2008:
1840's grey striped dress, aka the Poe Dress
green perriot jacket & petticoat
Fred hat
B's mini peacock tricorn
B's blue print English gown
chemise la reine revamp & hat
1800 cross-over dress
black & white striped jacket & petticoat
the Pearl Dress
Regency turban
French pannier

Not too shabby, although my post-Costume College tally is pretty pathetic. *ponders* Then again, I did bead a wedding dress and do two 18th century gown commissions so I shouldn't be so hard on myself I guess.

Umm... 2009.

I honestly don't know what 2009 will bring costuming wise. I feel like I'm on the edge of a transition phase of life, in so many areas of my life. I can just see the changes coming around the corner but don't know what they actually are. if that makes any sense. I know costuming will continue to be an important hobby in my life but what shape it's going to take in the next 12 months depends on what life throws at me.

I'm still thoroughly in love with the 18th century but I want to explore more of the later quarter of it than I have up to now. I am thoroughly addicted to hat making so stay tuned for more fluff and whimsy. I will finish the B&W bustle outfit and Pimpernel revamp if it kills me (which is possible) and of course I can't go to Costume Con without my Queen of the Night. The Charles II is a must for Costume Con as well as a new pair of 18th century stays. The Poe really needs ruffles as well.

There is lots more on my wish list, including some retro frocks for dancing, a fairy costume, something LOTR, a pet en l'air, finishing the quilted petticoat (!) and conquering the redingote...

First up - new, more comfy stays!!
