A new week and a new to-do list! *grin* My next costume event is on Sunday. It’s a local 4th of July celebration – yes on the 3rd. :> A group from RCHS will be there with games, dancing and such. I have the perfect 4th of July frock so I had to volunteer, right? :>

So to make the outfit even more appropriate for the 4th, I’m going to add blue ribbons to my hat and make a cream linen petticoat to wear instead of the brown. I may remake the sleeve flounces as well. They turned out a little skimpy. I was just guessing but apparently 45" wide is not quite full enough. I also have to get everything laundered and pressed from this weekend’s events.

I've also promised faithfully to actually start on B’s pirate costume. Poor thing, I honestly meant to have things to a point where she could order needed fabric and start the embellishment long before this but life has sort of gotten in the way lately. I don’t blame her for being a bit impatient at the moment.

*puts hands on hip* Of course she is getting what she’s paying for. *hee hee*

Oh yes I whipped up B’s pirate chemise toile today. I meant to get started on the stays toile tonight but got sucked into this blue eyed monster instead. Well I got my site updated anyway. :>

B isn’t working for a couple days so I should be able to fit this tomorrow. The toile went better than I feared. I have a phobia when it comes to shifts, silly I know but there it is. I’m using the Kannik’s Korner Regency shift pattern, so it was also a bit of a test for my own shift as well… if I ever get around to making that. :P I got the gussets to go in just fine with regular seams so next time I’ll try doing it with the felled seams.

Baby steps and maybe I might get over my phobia long enough to make a proper shift… that is the theory anyway. :>
