pure visuals or text poll

I'm working on my site re-deign and I have a question for you guys...

When you go to a page that has a number of choices of where to go, say a dress diary collection or a gallery of costumes, which do you prefer (and why):

a. A series of little square pics/visuals without descriptions (like this page)
or
b. A listing of titles/descriptions with a simple little icon for decoration (like my old page here)
