Yeah I thought Etsy would handle this situation, and me, differently - if it had been Ebay I would have walked in the situation with more jaded expectations. I think it's because Etsy in the beginning claimed to be different from the other marketplaces. The emphasis on community and being unique and all that. It was good for a while and now they have gotten too popular for their own good I think. I don't know if they have grown too big and don't know how to deal with these type of situations or the decision makers are now making enough money to not be bothered anymore.

Etsy used to be a place I spent a lot of time shopping but no more. Shopping online is always a risk but I had faith that Etsy had some kind of quality control. Not after this experience. It still burns me that this shop is still open after multiple and repeat offences and such a holy heck being raised. Not all scammers are as obvious as this one and yet they won’t act in this instance. Yeah I have zero confidence that Etsy has my back and will protect me or even help if one of their sellers tries to rip me off.
