beading video - 1 of 2

You asked for it so here it is - how I'm beading the peacock. I actually use two different techniques of beading for this project so this is the first one. This is a standard method for applying beads to a garment. It's very sturdy and tidy, allowing one to create pretty designs in beads. I also have a picture tutorial of this on my website.

Cool! You make it look so simple, I may even have a go myself ;-D

It is simple, just time consuming! :>

That's just fascinating. Thank you so much for posting this, you've now got me percolating ideas for beaded trim.

Thank you so much for this! I love watching instructional videos, because I usually don't pick everything up from still pictures alone. One question - how exactly do you have your fashion fabric attached to the cotton that's going through the embroidery hoop? Is it just basted on like the tissue paper?

The panels look absolutely stunning, by the way!

Thanks and you are welcome - it was fun to do. I've answered your question here:

This makes me think of the ladies hundreds of years ago doing this all the time since that's all they did in their spare time when they didn't have tv's and computers. You're a very Renaissance Woman. :)

Thanks! I have to admit I have put myself on a TV ration for the duration of this project. I stick to audio books and music when I'm beading - it's amazing how much I can get done without visual distractions!

This is completely OT, but you always have lovely nails.

Thanks! I enjoy giving myself manicures. :>

Thank you Jenny! This is so helpful to actually see the process. I am echoing the question of what you used to mount your fashion fabric to the sheet, and also, are you using metallic or wire thread? Are there certain threads for beading?

Seriously, you rock! :D
