And to prove I have the best Dad in the whole world... I used up the last of the tissues in the house so he went to the store on his way home and bought me PINK tissues. *feels loved*
you are a beading GODDESS! I am incredibly impressed, not only that it looks so pretty, but more importantly that you have the mental patience to do something like that!
*blushes* Thanks! I enjoy embellishment work like this, it's relaxing really. Actually it's really madness, I can't really believe I'm doing a whole bodice. Madness I say!
There must be something about a ladies appreciation for tissues and equating the purchasing of such item with love. When Vince brings tissues home I tell him "You do really love me" then I hug him. Actually what I really think is it comes down to someone who is thoughtful and cares.
Yeah I can't say it was the tissues in and of itself (I'm not usually excited about their purchase), more the thoughtfulness of his specifically buying me the pink ones, the last pink ones in the store he said. :>
I know, there is a reason I am still single - I've grown up with very high standards indeed! :> Thanks. I'm so tired of being house bound and feeling icky.
Seriously I would be going stark raving mad without the beading to occupy my mind right now. Everything else tires me out or bores me quickly but I can sit on my bed, audio book running, and bead for hours. It uses just enough brain wattage but not too much and makes the day go much faster than TV. I just wish the beadwork went faster. I'll feel much less overwhelmed by the project when I can get the large bodice pieces out of the way (2.5 down, 1.5 to go!).
If I remember when I see you at Costume college, I must ask you to explain the picture you posted so I know what you're doing with the strings, etc....
The black strings are the silk thread I use to attach the beads. The white lines are chalk marks to help me keep the rows of beads straight as I go along. Is that what you mean?
Yes well, it not my fault you surround yourself with those who like to physically suffer as a hobby. It warps them. And you can tell them I said so. :P
If you think I'm coddled you should see Mom's recovery. Geez! Your reachable ones would be quite nauseated. Hee.
I'll try to enjoy it all for your sake though. I am feeling better today, I might even make it out of the house (!!) and to the library for Mom. That is my big goal for the day anyway.

It's Official
The last time I got sick I pretty much got told to suck it up by those within reach.
It's hard to be coddled from three thousand miles away.
So enjoy it! For both of us!
And GET WELL SOON. SERIOUSLY.
