Any good tips on how to do this kind of seam?

I've never had to - even for the couple of Victorians I've recently made. However, there is one Victorian I want to make (hopefully for Christmas time) which should have piped seams. Using Velvet - which I daresay will make it more complicated.

I've tried to find some online tutorials but those I have found made it seem terribly complicated.
