not a good mail day

Well nuts! The silk taffeta from fabrics.com is not what I wanted. It's more of a dupioni than a taffeta, without the sheen, the body and with too many slubs. So I'm sending it back. Hopefully that will be a painless process.

Moo I say - MOO! Now I'm super jealous of all the garment district shopping. Life is so unfair.

Oh no! I haven't gotten mine yet - so disappointing!

Was there a particular color you wanted? B/c I have Valentine's (the $6/yd place) card, and [livejournal.com profile] akasha_zuul grabbed their swatch card...

Very annoying!

Fabric.com is easy to return to though. My green wool that totally didn't work out was very easy to send back.

Boo :( How frustrating.

When do you need your fabric??? If you send me a swatch of the color you want, I might be able to find something for you in said garment district; it's practically my back yard. BUT, you'd have to wait until I'm recovered from baby #2. That means no garment district trips until about November or so. But I'd be happy to be your shopper =)

Rats, how frustrating! What color was yours? I got some in black and while it's not a taffeta it's not a dupioni either, more of a shantung.

Omigod! You totally freaked me out when I read this as I too ordered their black silk taffeta. When I got home from Vegas I had a mini-stroke and tore open the box only to find...black silk taffeta. Mine has no slubs, has a nice sheen and everything else. Go fig.

I wonder if they weren't paying attention and sent you dupioni by accident. Either way if you aren't happy with it - send it back! Take if from a person who has "lived" with a purchase, you won't be happy if you keep it. But Fabric.com has always been real nice to me about those things, so you should have no probs.

I hate when stuff like that happens!!! :( Sending lots of fabric sympathy your way...
