post election blues

Needless to say I'm disappointed this morning. Change isn't always a bad thing but I'm not excited about the changes I see coming in the next 2-4 years. Still God is sovereign and He has a plan. Now that is the kind of hope and change I can believe in.

I'm looking forward to going back to being able to read my Friend's List anyway. It hasn’t really been that fun lately.

Amen to that. I'm dissapointed, but I know that God is in control of all things. By the way, I've been reading your blog and studying your costume site for quite some time. I finally decided to post. Anyway, I love all of your research and how to pages, very helpful. Feel free to visit my blog http://ladyofportlandhouse.blogspot.com/. God Bless.

*sigh* Yes to everything. Although there are a lot of really good things that could happen if he turns out to be the trainwreck he's go so much promise to be. The process won't be fun, though. :)

Amen to that. There are a number of costumers that I initially friended because although it was clear they were on the other side of the fence, they almost never commented on things. It's been nothing but a barrage for the last couple weeks, though, and I'm so tired of it.

I agree.

I'm with you. I keep reminding myself that people have the right to express their opinion on their journal, but it doesn't really make me feel any better. Hopefully everyone will get back to posting costuming progress soon!

Ditto to all that. *sigh* However, I take comfort in the fact that God knows beforehand what's going to happen, and He's still got a plan. I think this election simply illustrates that while the political sphere is important, our own personal walk with God is *more* important, and we as a church need to be sticking to our convictions and doing what He's told us to do. Political losses are generally symptoms, not causes. This is all merely a symptom of societal changes that have been going on for a long time. While I'm mightily depressed, I don't intend to let it get me down too much. So we pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and plug away at the truly important things. (And, y'know, watch the president, Congress, and Senate like hawks, like we should be doing anyway...)

Hear, hear.

Wow! I thought I was the only one feeling that way, on both accounts. *hug*

You summed up in a couple sentences what it took me a whole blog post to say, lol. ;-)

Even though we are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, I can totally agree with that statement. Im so tired of politics and politicians and all the mud and well you get the idea.

I support Obama but am sobered and scared by the amount of work needed to start fixing the country's problems.
With God behind us and what's best for the country and the world in mind we can't go far wrong. I hope.

Amen. You've summed it up exactly! I keep reminding myself that God puts people in power and he can take them from it. It's all in His hands.

You have summed up how I feel about the whole election. As much as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it just about drove me nuts with how people would go for the throat if someone opposed their views.

Like you, I'm glad to be able to read non-election news in my friend's list.
