while I was away
*waves* First I would like to give huge thanks to everyone who wrote to encourage me and check up on me during my LJ hiatus. A very special thank you for the chocolates & postcards. You guys really are the best.
I meant to break my hiatus long before this but by the time I was ready to come back my trip to San Diego was suddenly upon me. The trip was incredible as I celebrated the wedding of my dearest Maegan. I went out almost a week early for my maid of honor duties, to generally help out and spend some time with M before her big day. It was the best week ever, if emotional and a bit crazy toward the end. It was just what I needed. To be home in SD again, be with dear friends, spend time with my family and away from my office... exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries... once I catch up on my sleep that is!
I've posted a few favorite pics (I took about 550 while I was away!) starting at the bachelorette party Bridget & I threw for the girls. There are more to come, at least I hope so as there aren't many of me on my camera. The professional ones of the wedding party in Balboa Park are the ones I can't WAIT to see - woo hoo! My pics are here:

What else have I been up to while I've been offline?
I've watched the new Jane Eyre (I liked it loads Aubry, more than I expected too, the Dalton is still my favorite of course), The First Churchills (adored it - oh the mantuas!) & Elizabeth The Golden Age (not really impressed)
I bought big, fat glass pearls to wear with my future Restoration dress, which is now a must thank you The First Churchills
I've had that Cadbury Creame Egg I was craving and a few extra for good measure
I've made progress on my chemise dress & redingote - see my website for updates if not many pics, sorry
I ordered 3 bridesmaid dresses trying to get the right size - crazy! No altering in the end though, just let out the pleats
I've been listening non-stop to Sarah Brightman's new release Symphony
I've snuggled my kitty a lot
I've had way too much fun sewing, cooking & laughing with

I'm finally feeling non-sickly, although jet-lag has been rearing it's ugly head since I got back. blah.
I cut my hair - still long but nicer layers, got a straightener (still playing with that) & now have the loveliest red highlights thanks to my sunny San Diego walks. My hair really loves Southern CA.
I've tweaked my Poe dress - no trim yet but the hem and sleeve are fixed
I've completely rearranged the furniture in my bedroom, moving pictures & everything
I lost weight from being sick so much, only to gain it back with all the In n'Out, Mexican food, avocados, See's & hot chocolate I consumed in SD - oh well
I've been reminded how precious friendships are and that they are all unique, just as my friends are.
I think that covers the highlights... *grin* Costuming wise I need to kick it in high gear now that B will be home for the Coaching Day event. That makes the Redingote outfit for me and an English gown for her. I must be mad! But then you already knew that...
