muffs & bustle progress

Felicity's mitts, muff & pattens set came today. Oh my gosh it is SO CUTE. A very nice treat indeed. The little muff is my favorite. I seriously need a muff for myself now, ivory with blue embroidery and everything!

In other news my bustle is progressing and is starting to actually look like a bustle. Some ribbons and a hem and it's done, then onto the overlay part. Before I can continue on though I have a quick mending-for-pay job to do. Then it's on to ruffly goodness - yay!

Oh, I love Felicity's mitts and muff! Except I think that her stockings and garters with the clocking on them are cuter...

I have her stockings & garters too, one of the orginal Felicity things I bought when I was a wee lass. Maybe it's because it's new but I think the muff is much cuter. :>

Oh, okay then. I know what you mean about their being "less novel". But the muff is indeed adorable! :-)

I have Samantha and lots of Samantha clothes and accessories but I have thought about getting Felicity and Felicity clothes and accessories too. I am particularly fond of the green riding outfit. Geeky me wants to check out what Felicity's stays are boned with.

There is little of Felicity's things (at least the old original line) I don't like. :> My sis has the riding habit and I love to drool over it. The stays are a plastic boning. I've never ripped it open to look but mine (pre-Mattel) have a nice weight, something nicer than the sew in boning from Jo-Anns, almost like German whalebone.

Aww, so cute! I love how "accurate" all the stuff is. Like obviously since it's doll stuff and modern times you wouldn't expect complete accuracy, but for them to think of those kind of accessories: awesome!

Yep, one of the things I've always loved about AG is the details - yay! :>

Oh lucky you! I still squee over American Girl accessories when I take mine out to look at every now and then. I always thought Felicity's were the most awesome! I have all of Felicity's furniture, and my heart is absolutely breaking that I'm going to have to sell it because I don't have room to keep it anymore. The attention to detail and historical accuracy that the AG line has is so amazing and special.

Oh that is sad! Hopefully it will go to a good home!

Love your icon BTW!

My icon was made by [livejournal.com profile] darkangsty42. I found it at [livejournal.com profile] little_women, which is an awesome community for period drama icons. Definitely check it out if you haven't already!

Oh cool resources - thanks! I love collecting new icons but am so lazy about searching for them. :>
