Fort Fred
Looks like I'll be at the Fort Frederick 18th Century Market Fair on Friday. Any of my local costume peeps going to be there on Friay as well?
Also, for those of you who have gone before, is this a costume event or should I just wear everyday clothes?

You'll have MUCH more fun in costume, think of it as a ren fest for the 18th C - many many people will be in costume. If you don't want to drive all the way in a corset you can do what J and I do and wear your shift and under-petticoat in the car and change into stays and gown in the parking lot. I've seen other people do that as well. There is not a whole lot of shade so I would recommend wearing a hat and if it's hot bringing a fan. I usually bring a basket for my purchases/pocketbook/phone etc. You can usually leave large purchases with the vendors and then pick them up once you're ready to go. They do have yummy food there at very reasonable prices so you don't need to packs snacks unless you really want to.

I guess I should look and see how far a drive from Fred0burg it actually is.
I'll definitely dress up then - I'll probably be cooler and less likely to get a sunburn that way anyhow! I just didn't want to be the only one! :>

You might want to check the weather...I believe it's supposed to be cooler and rainy. And be prepared for scantily clad middle-aged Native American interpreters -- they were quite abundant last year. *shudders*
