like I need another project!

Katherine you are such a bad influence! I just bought cotton voile for a Chemise รก la Reine.

I am so weak!

But Katherine the Great's just looks so darn pretty and comfortable. *snicker* The talk of visions of lots of white fluffy gowns with colorful sashes at CC proved too tempting. Whether it will be CC '07 is up for grabs at this point of course but it looks a relatively easy project. :> I'm thinking a green sash... :>

Poor K - This seems to be my year to unashamedly take 'inspiration' (ie pinch) from your projects. Still want to be my roommate? :P

Bad news is I just spent my Fantasy Tea money so I do hope I'm not the only one not going. I had fun last year but really didn't think it was worth the money anyway. Anyone want to join me in the cafe for a cheap cup of coffee? *grin*

I'm not going to the tea either and I'm sure we're not the only ones. :-) I'm ALWAYS up for coffee!

Yay! I didn't get to spend much time getting to know you last year so this will be something to look forward to. So it's a date? :> Maybe if it's nice we can sit outside. I didn't get enough of the sunny California weather last time. :>

I totally have a chemise dress in the planning stages for myself as well. And its all Katherine's fault! Im thinking blue sash with long tight sleeves... :)
Im going to the tea. I figured since it was my first year, I would go ahead and try it out.

Katherine has a lot to answer for! :> Oh long tight sleeves, what a fun variation! I was tempted by blue too but I have all this green silk laying about... I do love mossy greens. :>

I was tempted by long tight sleeves too. That'll be another chemise dress though!

You're certainly not the only one. I went to the tea one year and felt the same as you; it was fun, but not really worth the money when I was missing out on programming. I like the idea of having our own little informal get together.

[identity profile] jennylafleur.livejournal.com 2007-04-11 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds like a plan! :>

I am evil :)

Yeah, you can still be my roommate :P

And it is an easy project! Plus, you can learn from my mistakes. One, the waistband is not straight. Suzi had the same problem. And I think it'll look better with more gathering in the back, as said in my latest entry. We'll see. But other than that? It's drawstrings! I just sewed a big tube, gathered the back and pinned the shoulder straps in place. Couldn't be easier :)

Yay for learning from other's mistakes. I'm so tired of learning from my own! :> Do you mean the waistband on the pattern is not straight or the wist should not be straight?

I keep hearing "easy" with the chemise a la reine, which is what I need after this week. :P

I'll join you at the cafe! I went to buy my Fantasy Tea ticket the other day, and almost fell off my chair when I saw the price, so I didn't buy it. Now that I've killed my finances, and have to buy Costume Con tickets in the near future. . . I'm all about a cheaper option - and am so excited there are a bunch of fabulous costumer friends - including yourself, of course!!! - who will be there too. Yay! :)

[identity profile] jennylafleur.livejournal.com 2007-04-16 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was nice last year but not that nice! I'm sure you are mostly paying for the space in the room. I didn't want to tempt you away from the tea fun but I'm glad I get to hang with you! *does happy dance*

Are you going to the San Jose Costume Con? It looks like fun but I can't swing it. I'm definitely going to try for the Baltimore one though, since that is literally a few hours from here. Too close not to if I can! :>

[identity profile] jennil.livejournal.com 2007-04-16 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'm going to San Jose. I can't swing it either, but I'll have to, because I sort of committed to it already. ;) Ooh Baltimore is indeed close! So tempting! I think I'll have to see how I like a Con though. It's never really appealled to me the way Costume College does. . . We'll see!
