My new baby – isn’t she cute? *grin* I’ve be spending quality time with her all day working on my Erté toile. The toile is going well and I’m in love with the new machine. Oh.My.Gosh. So much nicer than my old clunker. I can foresee really enjoying the next month of crazy CC sewing after all. *hee hee* It’s nice that you don’t have to have an amazing sewing machine to make costumes one can be proud of but it’s much more fun to be out of the stone age of sewing machine technology! :>

Is it a bad sign that I want to name my new machine? Funny I never even considered naming the old one...

I have some pics of the Erté toileing but they turned out on the crappy side. I don’t think I’ll post them… I knew there was a reason I didn’t like toileing with plain white muslin. :>

Nice. But remember--don't knock those old machines!! :D I am glad that you got a new one--Mom's Kenmore is a very nice machine with all those fancy stitches and the thread cutter. Mmm... I love the thread cutter. ;)

Naming it isn't bad! I've named all my electronics... even my car! (Dubbed "Gilda" after the Rita Hayworth character in the movie of the same title.) Even my notebook computer is named!!! :D But then again, we name *everything* around here...

Hey, I didn't knock the old machines! They do the job, they are just not as much fun. :> Yeah, I have lots of fancy stitches now, not that I will ever use them in all likelihood. I will barely use the fancy buttonholer. I will admit that mine has an automatic needle threader that looks pretty cool. Haven't figured out how to use it yet though... :>

Thread cutters are the best. It's great to have one that is sharp again (the one on the old machine was getting dull). This one has a little thread cutter for the bobbin thread - it's so cute!! *sigh* It doesn't take much to get me excited, huh? :>

I was just looking through the Cloilde catalogue and they have a littlecutter you can attach to an older machine, if you want one for yours. Such a dangerous catalogue to browse through!

How nice to have a new machine! What a nice dad you have! Hey, I had a moment of panic when I first glanced at this journal entry. You were talking about your Costume College sewing "I can foresee really enjoying the next month of crazy CC sewing after all." All I focused on was "crazy CC sewing" and I thought, "Oh no! Jenny-Rose is annoyed by all those Titanic corset questions I was asking her lately!" After re-reading carefully I was glad to know that it wasn't about me after all.

Anyway, have lots of fun with your new machine. I cannot wait to see all your beautiful creations from it.
